Ready to run in the biggest Fleet Feet Sports event ever? Welcome to The Big Run!
On June 7, Fleet Feet Sports locations nationwide will hold a local 5K race. All results will funnel up into a national leaderboard to determine: who is the fastest runner in the country?
But speed isn't the only thing that counts. We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks. Let us recap the ways:
- You get to join Fleet Feet Sports communities across the country in doing something we've never done before—a nationally-coordinated 5K race taking place in different locations all on the same day.
- It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?
- Every finisher gets a medal. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal.
- We know some people. And some pretty cool brands (cough, cough, Brooks). Let's just say, we're planning some fun raffle giveaways and category prizes.
The Big Run coincides with Global Running Day and is open to runners of all levels and abilities.
Additional information can be found at http://www.fleetfeettacoma.com/

A 5km race on a fast, flat and downhill course starting at N. 37th & N. Vassault Street in Tacoma and finishing at Point Ruston's Grand Plaza.
But have no fear! While this is a speedy course for fast runners, it also is a fun course for a powerwalk before your Independence Day barbeque! Everybody is welcome to participate!
The 5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00 am sharp at N. 37th & Vassault Street. This is located very close to Vassault Park.
The finish of the 5K is at the Grand Plaza at Point Ruston on the beautiful Waterwalk.
The Grand Plaza is also where the Kids 1K will start at 9:00 am. The kid's run is an out-and-back, so the runners can cross the official finish line as well.

2017 Crown of the Sound Series is underway starting with the St. Paddy's day race.
For 2017 the list of races that qualified for the Crown of the Sound is:
List of runners who completed three of the 4 races in 2016:
Medals are now available at our office, upstairs from Fleet Feet Tacoma, Mondays to Fridays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Fleet Feet staff does not have access to the medals on weekends or outside TCMA business hours.
A big THANK YOU to all runners who participated in this series and run our races!
Here is how it works:
The TCMA Crown of the Sound 13.1 Series starts with St. Paddy's Day and you can pick any 3 of the races mentioned above to complete the series. If you don't run St. Paddy's Day Half Marathon you will need to complete the other 3 half marathon distance races to complete the series.
The series will only count races in the half-marathon distance (13.1 miles). We cannot count the Tacoma City marathon full marathon towards completion of the series.
Only races completed in 2017 count in this series.
Only races completed will count - being signed up but not running will not be counted.
The age group for the series is determined by the person’s age as of the date of the first event in the series. If a person has a birthday after the first event they remain in the original age group however their placement in the new age group is used for each event after their birthday.
TCMA Crown of the Sound 13.1 Series scores and updates will be available here on this page and will be updated after every race that counts towards the series.
*some of this information may change as we move along - please make sure to stop by on this page and check for updates.
